I’ve loved make-up since I was a little girl. I’d spend hours experimenting with colours and styles, and became more and more interested in cosmetics and beauty therapy. Now, a few decades on, I feel so lucky to be working with what I love. It gives me a great deal of pleasure to be able to help brides look and feel amazing on their wedding day.
I trained in Lewes, near Brighton and completed a diploma in Beauty Therapy, Stage and Photographic Make-Up. I now have 25 years experience, working both as a freelance and in-house beauty therapist, in and around Bristol, UK. Over the last decade, my work has focused on bridal make-up. Since moving to France in 2009, I’ve established myself as a freelance make-up artist in Hounoux, a small village less than 30 minutes from Carcassonne. Happily, I’ve found my skills to be much in demand!
I like to cherry pick my favourite make-up from all the tried and trusted cosmetic houses. For instance, I love MAC’s face and body foundation, but prefer Urban Decay’s Naked collections for eye colours. Illamasqua’s blushers offer outstanding colour pigmentation and staying power. I even have some Boots No7 in my kit! I have recently purchased some pieces from Charlotte Tilbury that are fabulous and I believe will become staples in my kit.
For the last two seasons I have been using the Airbase airbrush system for foundation, which I adore. It sits on the skin like a veil and offers a high definition finish that looks amazing on camera. It doesn’t work the foundation into the pores like a beauty blender or brush does with conventional foundations, so when you perspire (which you inevitably will in the South of France) It doesn’t puddle or pool! I can blend the foundation to be your perfect match, if your skintone changes between the trial and the big day, it’s no problem!
I’m happy to travel to any venue in the South of France (travel costs apply).
